    Re: Vote for your favourite!

Annelie: It sounds very made-up, so this is my least favorite...

Catalina: This is lovely, and I think my favorite version of Catherine. I voted for this one!

Claudie: I much prefer Claudia, because in my accent all I hear is 'clotty'. :( I'm sure it's lovely in French, though!

Mirabella: Very pretty, and I like the nicknames. It's a little frilly (though I am a fan of frilly!) for me...

Thea: I like Thea, but I think it has more distinction as a nickname for Theodora, Althea, Anthea, or Alethea.

    I like your list!

Thea is my favorite - simple, unique, and sophisticated - followed by Mirabella - a little frilly for me, but feminine and lovely. The one I dislike the most is Catalina, even though I know of an Argentinian woman named Catalina, as it reminds me of the salad dressing...

    Good luck!

    Lemon :-)

PS Thea Mirabelle would be gorgeous!!!

    Re: Vote for your favourite!

Haha. That's so funny! I don't believe that brand exists in the UK though so it's not a problem for me!

Yeah, British "salad dressing" is vastly different to American dressing! I think you are probably in the clear! But, seriously, every time I hear the name, I'm like, "As in the dressing?" Ha!

Thanks Lemon! I always love hearing you're opinions :)

If you have time can you check out my other post (posted just before this one) and give your opinions? It's under the title Can you suggest names in the same vein?

I'm glad you like Catalina, I think I prefer the nn Lina to Cat though...what do you think?

I suppose I can see why Claudie would sounds like that with an American accent - I assume you're American? We're British so it very much rhymes with Lord-y in my head not clotty!

Mirabella - I know what you mean about the frilliness! I do wonder if it's too frilly for me but since our middle name is Morgan, I think if we want to use an M name it has to hvae quite a few syllables, For example, I love Margot, but Margot Morgan sounds silly to me! Which is your fav nn for Mira? Do you think it is too different to my other fav names as for as sibsets?

And Thea - Althea has crossed my mind but I still prefer just Thea!

    Thanks :)
Now I think I remember looking up Annelie before! I think it has a really pretty sound.

Catalina has so many nickname options-- Cat, Catie, Tali, etc.-- but Lina is my favorite, too!

Yep, I'm American, and there's no way I could make Claudie rhyme with Lordy. I wish I could, though-- Claudie is so much prettier than Clotty!!

I like the alliteration of Mirabella Morgan! Margot Morgan is bad, though. Nicknames for Mirabella: Mira, Miri, Mimi, Mia, Belle, Bella... there are probably more. I like Miri or Mimi best.

I picked Annelie, with the nn Anna or Annie...just a pretty name all the way around. My second choice would be Thea.
