    Nautical names

My husband and I love sailing, and I was thinking it might be nice to give our baby a name that was somehow related to sailing, but I haven't been able to think of anything I really like. Here are names I consider "nautical" and the reasons they're not quite right for me.

Catalina- this is the brand our sailboat, but I think it might be a
little strange to name a child directly after the brand of a
    boat.
Celeste- as in "celestial navigation." But it's too close to my son's
    name.
Hobie- this is the brand of our catamaran, but I wouldn't use if for
the same reason I wouldn't use Catalina. Plus, I don't love
it for a child. I would, however, use if for a cat.
Marina- this would be confusing because the word "marina"
comes up a lot in conversation for us, as in, "Let's go to
    the marina."
Noah- as in the guy who built the ark. But it's a little too popular
for me. I like it, though.
Sailor- cute, but not for me.
Sally- kind of sounds like "saily." :) That one may be kind of a
stretch. I like Sally, but I'm not sure I love it.

What are some other names that could be related to sailing?

I really love the name Anchor for a boy. Also, there's Oceane for a girl. I'll think of more when I get back!

Genevieve means 'white wave' and it's a lovely name and Kai, Murray and Hali all mean 'sea'

    I love sailor names!

Catalina- this is the brand our sailboat, but I think it might be a
little strange to name a child directly after the brand of a
boat. - Catalina is an island near L.A. The capitol of Catalina
is Avalon. Love Avalon for a girl.
Celeste- as in "celestial navigation." But it's too close to my son's
    name. - Yeah...
Hobie- this is the brand of our catamaran, but I wouldn't use if for
the same reason I wouldn't use Catalina. Plus, I don't love
it for a child. I would, however, use if for a cat. - For a cat, it would be great!
Marina- this would be confusing because the word "marina"
comes up a lot in conversation for us, as in, "Let's go to
    the marina." - I agree.
Noah- as in the guy who built the ark. But it's a little too popular
for me. I like it, though. - I love it, too! Jonah is a watery name as well.
Sailor- cute, but not for me. - Yeah, it's too cutesy for me. Would love it for a pet.
Sally- kind of sounds like "saily." :) That one may be kind of a
stretch. I like Sally, but I'm not sure I love it.

I have to go. But I will be back soon to think of more sailor names.
