    Sister for Adelaide Elizabeth?

We are having another little girl and are seriously considering the name Isla. My main concern is that she will have to correct the pronunciation her whole life. I am also a little concerned that the actress Isla Fisher is up-and-coming.

The middle name will most likely be August - a family name on my husband's side and my birth month.

Would love to hear your thouhts!

    Re: Sister for Adelaide Elizabeth?

Hi! I love your daughter's name. :-) With Isla Fisher's popularity and the rising popularity of her name (according to Nameberry, Isla is going to become very popular), I can't imagine an Isla having to correct the name's pronunciation that often.

If you're not set on Isla, I can better see these names with Adelaide:

    Clementine
Clara (but not with August because of the back-to-back As)
    Evangeline
    Eleanor
    Eloise
    Felicity
    Flora (but not with August)
    Genevieve
Ivy (close to Isla's sound, but I don't think that Ivy August has the best flow...What about Ivy Augusta or Ivy Augustine?)
    Iris (but not with August)
    Josephine
Louisa (but not with August...Because Louisa ends with an a and August begins with one, I have to pause between them when saying the combo out loud)
    Lydia (ditto)
    Mirabel
    Stella (but not with August)
Tabitha (nn Tibbie, but not with August)
    Vivian
    Violet (but not with August...)

    Shorter names like Isla:

    Cora
    Clara
    Flora
    Ivy
    Iris
Lila (although I can better see the others with Adelaide)
    Nora
    Ruby
    Stella

    Good luck! :-)

I'm less worried about the miss pronunciation of Isla as i am of its rise in popularity! I also don't feel like Isla and Adelaide fit well together. I love August as a mn.

    Re: Sister for Adelaide Elizabeth?

I wouldn't worry about the pronunciation especially because of the popularity! But Isla seems like a different style from Adelaide to me. Are you looking for other suggestions? I love the mn August! - actually there's another thread somewhere about using first name Augusta and I think that's adorable too, and cute with Adelaide if you don't mind the two A's.

    Adelaide and
    Augusta Louise
    Cordelia August
    Emmeline August
    Rosemary August
    Rosalind August
    Evelyn August

    Good luck!

    Re: Sister for Adelaide Elizabeth?

I love a lot of the names that have been suggested, but many of them end with an 'a', and with the mn August, it doesn't flow as well. Here are some other names I love with Adelaide and August.

    Imogen August (or Augusta)
    Georgiana/Georgina August
    Penelope August
    Veronica August
    Felicity August
    Beatrice (doesn't go with August)
    Genevieve August
    Catherine August
    Valentine August
    Juliette August
    Julianne August
    Dorothy August
    Bellamy August
    Bethany August
    Verity August
Caroline August** (really like this one :))

These names I think are more like Isla's style.

    Freya
    Laura
    Maya
    Louisa
    Flora
    Norah
    Cora
    Faye
    Bonnie
    Joya
    Esme
    Alice

    WDYT?
