Re: I am currently crushing on Artemis. Discuss.

Hi! Claudia and Juno are my favorites from your list. Atemis does feel very fanciful to me, but if I knew a little Artemis, perhaps I'd feel differently. I do think it's a very pretty name!

Names that remind me of Artemis:

    Aurelia
    Ariadne
    Cordelia
    Clio
    Demetria
    Eleanora
    Evadne
    Daphne
    Helena
    Isadora
    Leonora
    Lavinia
    Penelope
    Theodora
    Thea
    Xanthe

    Good luck! :-)

There's a really popular set of children's books called Artemis Fowl, and that Artemis is a boy so I think that could be a problem. From your list I love Octavia, Juno and Claudia.

I too have seen Artemis used for men. I'd go with Artemisia. My SIL's middle name is Dyan (Diane), but Diane and Artemis are the somewhat the same goddess in Roman and Greek mythology. Artemisia was the name of a Renaissance woman painter and the name of a female tyrant mentioned in the Histories of Herodotus. I think it's a great idea to use the more classical names. I love Lavinia and Aurelia as well.
