Re: Name help needed, please!
Salome gave a fantastic reply on the girls' names thread and included some boys names there too. From that list, there are some lovely names but most of the ones they like are already used by family members :( Apart from that, they like Luke (perhaps Lucas?) and Zach from the list (though they're not sure about a full name for Zach yet).
- A full name for Zach is Zachary.
A family name is John, which has great significance on both sides of the family. Oliver John? Arthur John? Lucas John? Nathaniel John sounds a little off-beat, imo.
Love John. And Oliver. And Nathaniel.
- I love all of your names, especially Rachel!
Some of my other favorite biblical names are:
Chloe - I think it's in the New Testament.
Evelyn - has Eve in it.
Julia - I think Julia is in Acts.
Lillian - this is a stretch, but Susannah means lily, and Susannah is in the New Testament.
forms of Mary - Marian, Mariel, Marin
Ruth - especially love it as a middle name.
Girls' names that have biblical imagery or themes:
Any angel names - I love Angelina the most. Also Angelica.
Alice - means truth
Anastasia - means resurrection
Bianca - means white
Celeste - means heavenly
Faith, Fay, Faye
Helen/Helena, Elaine, Eleanor, Eleni - means light
Journey - I would like this as a middle name.
Lucy means light
Paloma - means dove
Sophia - means wisdom, I think Sophia is in the New Testament as well.
Stella - means star, so pretty!
True - love this as a middle name.
Veronica - means true image
Zoe - means life
Some feminine forms of masculine biblical names:
Boys - there are many more biblical choices for boys than there are for girls. I will just put down my favorites:
Barnaby - a form of Barnabus.
Gabriel nn Gabe - this is one of my favorite boys' names lately.
Jacob, but it's too popular.
John nn Jack, forms of John are so much fun: Owen, Ewan, Ian, etc. Just look up John on check out a name and scroll down to find International Variations of John. I think Owen is my favorite form of John. Owen goes really well with many last names.
Nathaniel nn Nathan
Tobias - I think this is in the bible, but I'm not sure.
My favorite boys' saints' names:
Boys' names with biblical themes:
Cruz - means cross
Justus - means Justice
Theodore - this is probably a saints' name. Means gift of God.
I can't think of any more.
