Re: Obsessive Teen Name Loving(:
I started naming when I was two and my parents asked what I wanted to name the baby; I picked Genevieve (after Madeleine's dog though, not so much a testament to my great naming ability!) but it really didn't catch on until I was seven: my parents were having another baby (this time, I suggested Laura) and I was trying to come up with a name for my American girl doll, so I borrowed the baby name book and have yet to return it. I'm nineteen now, so I guess I can say I have both a teen and a lifelong love of names!
It seems to be genetic in my family, my younger sister is the same way but with very different names tastes then myself! She likes Rachel, Noah, Lily, Nola, Maddy, Annabel...
I notice I prefer girls' names...I'm also a reader of J.K. Rowling, although I don't think I used any Harry Potter names. I'm a firm believer in personally not naming a child after someone. But I tend to lean towards the vintage names, which seem to be coming back (both a yay! and a boo!). I've been fascinated with both Greer and Sylvia lately, they are now characters in a story I'm trying to write.
Violet ? (I can never decide on a middle name for Violet but it's been consistently my favorite since I was 13! Unfortunately, it seems to becoming very popular now)
Riordan "Rory" Monet
others I like but have not yet combined: Elora, Henrietta, Roselyn, Livia, Lucy (can't use) and Alice, Rose, Audrey, Scarlett (my nickname!), Nina (as a middle name), Caleb, Gavin, Percy (short for Percival or Perseus), Jason (can't use), Rory, Rowan, Amadeus (as a middle name),...dreaming of naming my future first cat.
today's favorites: Howl, Sherlock, Scheherazade
(and favorites of the non-pet names: Celia Hermione, Odette, Inigo, Arthur Rooney)

I'm not quite a teen, but I've lurking around on Nameberry for almost a year.
My BFF is obbsessed with names too, but I can't convince her that Nameberry is totally awesome. The other kids our age think its weird that we're obbsessed with names. I like to write, which is really fun because I can use my favorite names NOW, not in like, 20 years.
I'm kind of mad at my mom for giving me and my brothers names that, when we were born, were in the TOP 5!!!
Both my brothers are _________ f. every year, but thankfully I only know two other girls with my name, one is a year younger than me, and one is an adult. Its kind of nice to know I'm not the only kid on Nameberry.Boys top 5: Ryker*Asher*Clayton*Luca*Theodore
Girls top 5: Elodie*Cosette*Beatrix*Genevieve*Imogen

I'm not a teen anymore (just) but i deffinatly was (and still am) obsessed with names!! I wish I had found this site back then! I didn't think anyone else loved names like I did and felt like a bit of a freak. I kept my favourtie names to myself and loved to daydream about how many children I would have and what I would name them - but only girls, I had no interest in boys name (or having a son!) :P Also, I'm not sure if anyone else did this, but when I was younger I used to plan out different combinations of families for myself and my sisters. I loved naming them and deciding how old they would all be!!
Now I love all names and love talking about them every chance I get!
I can't wait to get to know fellow name lovers and discuss names!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Taylor, 15 and obsessed with (mostly girl) names! I just started here as well and figured "what better way to start on Nameberry then to join a thread filled with teens?" Anyway, I've been interested in names ever since my mom was pregnant with my little sister waaay back when I was in third grade. I probably had my entire class memorized at that point because my mom would make me name off every kid in my class to hear the kinds of names they had! My parents are clueless to my obsession at the moment, but I'm sure they will find out sooner or later lol.
My best friend also loves names; she loves taking inspiration from me! We could text each other about names for hours on
Indiana (This one has endured about 2 years in the #1 spot, which is the longest any name has stayed up there for )
