Re: Expecting Second Daughter and Need Name Expertise!

To answer your question of whether or not I'd pair Adelaide with Annelise - personally no I would not. I run my daughters names together all the time. They are both short names 2 syllables each but both end in an "a". When ever my daughter Kira and sister Kristina are in the same room with me I can never get their names straight. Sorry about suggesting Katherine I was focusing on the first name. I love the above names that have been suggested. Long names are not really my forte. Good Luck! :)

Addie: Adeline, Adelia, and your Adelaide

Allie: Alice (but it sound a lot like Annalise to me, with the same beginning and similar ending), Allegra

    Carrie: Caroline

Della: Delphine (a French floral name)

    Bella: Arabella, Mirabelle

    Dolly: Dahlia

    Dottie: Dorothy, Dorothea

Ellie: Eleanor, Eliza, Mirabelle, Rosalie (a bit of stretch to get Ellie, but the ending is so similar in sound)

Emmie: Emmeline, Clementine (has Em in the middle, but I think you said you don't care for this name)

    Gracie: Grace

    Hattie: Henrietta/Harriet

Katie (can't use again, but still like it)

Lizzie (my mn is Elizabeth and prefer not to use it again): Eliza

    Maddie: Madeleine, Matilda

    Maggie: Magnolia, Marigold, Margaret

    Mattie: Matilda

    Molly: Margaret

Nellie: Penelope, Helen, Helena, or just simply Nell.

    Penny: Penelope

Polly: I love this name by itself!

Rosie: Rose, Rosalie, Rosalind, Rosamund, Rosaline, Rosaleen.

Sally: I love this name by itself, and also as a nickname for Sarah.

    Susie: I love Susannah!

    Tillie: Matilda and Ottilie

I love so many of these nicknames! :-)

    Good luck!

    Edited to add Ottilie

If you don't mind the A theme I have a lovely combo for you especially if your child has red hair.

Aurora Elizabeth nn Rory Beth, isn't that sweet? (or Aurora Beth)

    Aurora and Annelise

Matilda and Annelise sounds great as a sibset and love the nn's of Tilly and Matti, and I love the femininity of these names too.

    I like these

    Helena nn Nell or Lena

Helena and Annelise Classic and beautiful

    Isabelle nn Belle not Bella

Isabelle and Annelise Popular but beautiful

    Emmeline nn Emma, Emmy

Emmeline and Annelise, Another beautiful sibset, a star on the rise

Madison, The awful outdated Madison, so unisex and not good with Annelise

Madeline The beautiful Madeline, nn Maddie

    Madeline and Annelise, Beautiful

Rosalie nn Rose Classic, feminine and lovely

    Rosalie and Annelise Lovely
    Psalm 23
