Re: Expecting Second Daughter and Need Name Expertise!

I love your baby girl's name! :-) I think that Adelaide is beautiful, but I know I'd personally get tongue-tied saying Adelaide and Annelise together. (Because they both start with A, have three syllables, and an ending beginning with an L, I can see myself calling them Annalaide and Adelise by mistake, but that's just me.) :-)

    Annalise and:

    Adelia
    Amelia (popular, though)
    Clementine
    Cordelia/Cora
    Clara
    Evangeline
    Emmeline
    Georgia/Georgiana
    Genevieve (nn Evie)
    Ivy
    Juliet
    Matilda
    Marielle
    Rose (as a first name)
    Violet
    Vivian/Vivienne

    Good luck! :-)

    Adelia - prefer Adelaide
Amelia (popular, though) - I have never liked this name for some reason. I think the way I say it sounds harsh or something...
Clementine - I like this name on paper, but I dont like the nns that it would be shortened to
    Cordelia/Cora
    Clara
    Evangeline -
Emmeline - like this one a lot, but nn Emma makes me hesitate due to popularity
    Georgia/Georgiana - I like Georgia
Genevieve (nn Evie) - Like Ginny, Gigi
Ivy - I think I would prefer a little bit longer of a name for the fn
    Juliet
    Matilda - Like
    Marielle
Rose (as a first name) - like Rose, I think I would like a longer version of Rose for fn to match length of Annelise
Violet - like a lot Violette?
    Vivian/Vivienne

Should I work backwards? I love calling my daughter Annelise, but must admit, that I do shorten it to Annie quite often. Should I find a nn first that I like with Annie and then find a longer name to go with it?

    I like these nns:

    Addie
    Allie
    Carrie
    Della
    Bella
    Dolly
    Dottie
    Ellie
    Emmie
    Gracie
    Hattie
Katie (can't use again, but still like it)
Lizzie (my mn is Elizabeth and prefer not to use it again)
    Maddie
    Maggie
    Mattie
    Molly
    Nellie
    Penny
    Polly
    Rosie
    Sally
    Susie
    Tillie
