    Re: sibling for Marigold

Marigold is adorable. Now let's work out an equally adorable sibling...

    These are some from my own list;
    Alice
    Dinah
    Eliza
    Esme
    Florence
    Henrietta
    Iris
    Jane
    Josephine
    Penelope
    Philippa
    Prudence
    Tess/Tessa
    Victoria
    Vera

Of these, I think the longer ones with more than two syllables work beautifully. Josephine and Henrietta sound quaintly Victorian when paired with Marigold. Penelope gives the set a very English edge (I should know, I am English). I also think Philippa works marvellously.Of the shorter ones, I would recommend Alice, Iris (not an immediate flower theme but a nice discreet one) and Vera.

Thank you so much for your fabulous replies!
I love that Clementine is such a favourite- pam, i live in Australia...where Clementine is becoming a bit more popular.... but I'm not sure how common....
I agree we need an upbeat name to match Marigold...
    From your suggestions I love
Esme, Mabel, Flora, Iris, Apolline, lots of them actually!
What do you think of Frida?
Thanks again for your ideas- I really appreciate your help!

Genevieve was my first reaction. Otherwise, Amyris or Clover might be nice.

So much fun to suggest names for someone with such adventurous taste! Frida is a name that really seems terminally old-ladyish in the US. Flora I absolutely love, but it and iris really get you into flower territory. Love the idea of Apolline -- that seems very original and a real match for Marigold. Love Esme and Mabel though a bit more au courant and less edgy.
