Re: Confident Middle Name for Vanessa?

    Hi again, Teabee!

I'm vascillating again. I think I prefer these girls' names without nicknames, all but Eleanor. I do like Ellie. At the same time one can never tell how these things will play out.

    Thanks again for your input.

Luisa: I like it, but I prefer Louisa. (I LOVE Louisa!) I pronounce Luisa as lou-ee-sa, while Louisa is Lou-ee-za for me.

Angelica or Anjelica (as in Huston): I think it's pretty, but I'd personally keep it as a middle name to avoid the common Angie nickname. (I also think of Rugrats.)

Elise: I really like Elise, but I'm still on the fence as to if it's too dated. Hmm... I love Anneliese, though!

Zara: I LOVE Zara! LOVE it!

    Let's see....

    Arabella
    Aurelia
    Amelia
    Allegra
    Anneliese
    Beatrix
    Calla

    Cordelia

    Cora
    Cassandra
    Diana
    Daphne
Eloisa (I love Eloisa and Eloise)

Eleanora (I think the A spices it up)
    Evelina
    Esme

    Felicity
    Georgiana (LOVE this!)

    Ivy
    Imogen

Re: Confident Middle Name for Vanessa?

    Hi Jill,

    Thanks (once again) for your input. After thinking on them, the only name that I would seriously consider is Zara, but am very much liking the following;

Beatrix - fiestier than Beatrice, less common, but still recognizable

Cordelia - I get both a stately and playful vibe from this. Then there's the obvious 'King Lear'
association. Hmmm...have to think about this one

Eleanora (I think the A spices it up) - Agreed! Love this, as does my husband

Esme - Gorgeous, but I'm not sure that I'm avant-garde enough to use it!

Francesca - Love it, but it's very Italian, (which I am not)

Fiona - Love it, but it's very Irish (same story)

Georgiana/Georgia - Just watched 'The Duchess' and really love the name. My grandmother's
middle name was Georgina, another derivative.

Helena - Stunning, graceful and with the 'a', less common

Isadora - Always liked this, but my husband is not a fan

And yet...our top four are Vanessa, Miranda, Eleanor(a?) and Charlotte.

Thanks for all your suggestions, all the same.

    Erika

I think Vanessa, Miranda, Charlotte, and Eleanor(a) are stunning. :-) You honestly can't go wrong with any of your choices! If nicknames are important to you, and are capable of narrowing your choices, maybe that's something to consider:

    Vanessa: Nessa
    Miranda: Mira and Randa
    Charlotte: Charlie, Char, and Lottie
Eleanora/Eleanor: Ellie, Elle, Lena, Nell, Nora
