I suppose this is a more family/political question but I'd be very grateful for any thoughts. I adore this name and desperately want it for my girl's name BUT... my mother in law claims it will start an enormous family row as her half sister has called her child Delilah (child is now 12ish) and that name now 'belongs' to her. I actually rather suspect she just doesn't like the name much and is throwing obstacles in my path!
I can't really ask the mother's permission because she's the type to raise an objection purely because she's been asked. I'm rather gutted to have to lose out on my favourite name just because someone we never see and never have contact with might throw a hissy fit.
But... am I wrong? Do you feel it is wrong for me to call the baby the same name as my husbands (half) cousin?
