When did THE name occur to you?
I am curious how many of you found "the" name (for your child, animal, lawnmower, etc.).

The names I love, and know I would use/have used on a child and love for the 60, 70 plus years I am in that child's life, have been discovered different ways. Some have been loved for a long while, others I was slow to warm-up to, and others I fell for as soon as a heard or saw the name.Charles Hawthorne "Charlie" o Jack Wilder o Theodore Boone "Teddy"
Sophie Jane Magnolia o Emma Eloise Maebry o Anneline Elisabet Winter
crushing on - Piers Lachlan, Tadhg Emerson, and Maebry Eloise
GP - Wilder Thackeray and Story Anneliese

All names I truly love have the following in common:
I initially encountered the name in a way/circumstance I considered positive - whether that be on Nameberry, in a book, or in a hero/ine.
The name sounded better the more I hear(d) it.
None of the negatives thought of by me or pointed out by others changed my feeling about the name. Even if I had temporary doubts, I always came back to the name in the end.#1 on the way!Why yes, I probably should be working!
