    I can't belive I'm posting here

We are having a third in January and were told at the 12 week scan it was most likely a girl. However, I went to an elective ultrasound yesterday and it was most definitely a boy!!! This will be our first (and only) boy after two girls and we were not prepared to come up with a boy name. My husband likes traditional "manly" names, like Jim, John, and Rob (which aren't getting anywhere with me). This is ironic since our girls are Logan Sophia and Holland Georgiana (much more "modern"). Anyway, we've thrown back and forth a lot of names (Rex, Graham, and a few others) and I think maybe we are settled on MacGregor with "Mac" for short, which gives my husband his manly name thing. However, we need a middle name and I'm stumped. My husband's name is Stephen and our last name ends in -ley. I thought about using his first name as the middle, but I don't love it. My husband also likes John since that's a family name on his side, but I REALLY don't love that one. I'm actually liking Ellis, which was one of my grandfather's names. My brother's first name is Preston and I really like it as a name, though I am not sure it flows well. So, thoughts on a middle name to go with MacGregor?

I like Macgregor Stephen although it does sound a bit off. Names like Macgregor are hard to pair a middle with since it sounds like surname, first name if you use too traditional of a middle.

    How about

    Macgregor Vaughn
    Macgregor Drake
    Macgregor Quinn
    Macgregor Felix
    Macgregor Gray
    Macgregor Jude

    Considering:
    Jane✨Fiona✨Thea✨Alice✨Evangeline✨Bridget ✨Gwyneth
    Oren✨Lars✨Bram✨Griffin✨Jude✨Nolan✨Kier an✨Otis

Macgregor reminds me of Peter Rabbit, which is an adorable association. I like Ellis from what you're considering. Some others that are somewhat manly, somewhat rare:

    Ian
    Lewis
    Walt
    Roy
    Gage
    Ralph
    Buddy
    Stuart
    Elm
    Berry
    Beatrix - Fleur - Minnow - Zelda - Fern - Winifred - Poet

    Wolfgang - Atlas - Huck - Abraham - Ernest - Ulysses - Fox - Alasdair

Since Macgregor has lots of letters, I think something short for a middle name would be strong.

    I really like
    Macgregor Gray
    Macgregor Ryan

    Let's see you have...
    Logan Sophia -ley
    Holland Georgiana -ley
    MacGregor 'Mac' (Edison ? )-ley
Congrats on having a son !
Lovely names let's see, you've managed not to repeat initials so that's kind of nice maybe you can continue that,
Stephen would flow well but if you don't love it and it does repeat the s maybe don't worry about it...
Ellis I like I think sounds great, but they you do have to very surnamey names ( Ellis is a surname in my family) this would be my fav of your suggestions but for that, not that that really matters just something to be aware of.
Preston the rs in macgregor seem to make this one less usable, they catch on it and it flows poorly :-/
John I honestly really like this but if you don't that what matters...

    Adam
    Amos
    Benjamin
    Caleb
    Cassius
    David
    ELLIS like you said
    Ezekiel
    Elijah
    Elias
    Elden
    Edwin
    Erik
    Edison !
    Eamon
    Fox
    Joseph
    Justus
    Nathan
    Noah
    Olin
    Prescott
    Tobias
    Vincent
    William
    Willet
    Wynn
