Girls Names You Probably Shouldn't Love, But Do?
Lately I've been falling for almost every name off the SSA lists from the 1890s (some I just can't love, like Fannie or Margaret), and that includes some of the big clunkers that you'd never expect on a birth certificate after 1929.
I imagine I'm likely alone in admitting that I love some of these names (and to be honest, I'm not even sure I WANT to admit that I like/love some....), but, are there any girls names you probably shouldn't love, but do? I don't seem to be as afraid to confess to liking the boys names that I like, but for some reason, the girls names seem to make me nervous, haha (which is odd, as some of them have very accessible, modern nicknames).♔ "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different." - Coco Chanel ♔

In experience, the ones I'm most nervous about admitting, actually, are the popular ones on NB. Imogen gets the ''too Nameberry'' comment a lot which I hate, why is it even a negative thing? We have good taste round here, evidently . Also it's very popular in my area; I'm not being pretentious I promise! Same with Jemima, even Clementine/Cordelia.
On the more GP side of things I guess the clunkiest ones I like are; Millicent, Doris, Edwina, Myrtle, Dolores (oh Dolores, I'm 100% in love with this but wouldn't use it ever, maybe if my future daughter's father is Spanish!), Virginia. And then there's Bay, Bess, Buffy, Bunny, Bibi, Scout... probably too cutesy even for me, maybe I've been on NB too long! Geraldine and Gertrude are probably the 'clunkiest' on my list but I adore them for personal reasons.(olivia. seventeen. film & philosophy student, worryingly maternal! in love with my kitty, majestically named shura)

I think Virginia is nice btw - it's my mum's sister's name. She's almost exclusively called Ginny, but my nana does call her Virginia from time to time. I believe her full name is Virginia Claire Rosemary.
