Most Popular Names in Denmark in 2013

A couple of days ago the list of the top fifty names given to children in 2013 was released and I thought it would be fun to post the top twenty-five (because posting all fifty would just be excruciatingly long, I'll include a link to the entire list in the bottom):

The format I will use is (with fear of making it all quite boring and confusing – if it is, I do apologise): *spot on the list* *name* (*how many children received the name* *spot on the list last year*)

    24. Frida (256; last year at #22 with 274, down two)
    25. Mille (236; last year at #23 with 273, down two)

These are actually quite boring, there's a lot of repetition from last year's list. It's the remaining twenty-five that's exciting, therefore I recommend you to check out the FULL TOP 50 LIST

Also here's my thread from last year, if anyone is interested.

Mmm Mathilde, Alma, and Elias are lovely. Vigga, Malou, Silje, Marius, Laurits, Bertram! It blows me away that Valdemar is at #23 and Storm at #32. Also Alberthe at #20 on the girls' list, and Albert at #40 on the boys'? What's that all about? Mads... pronounced like "mahss?"

@Emma: Mads is pronounced "mahss" or "MAZ" indeed Alberte is a very common name and has been steady on this list for years (not that I quite see the appeal, but the general Dane apparently does). Vigga is actually quite a jumper, went from #53 to #28 on a year – I love it.

Thanks for sharing! It's interesting to see the similarities and differences with my own country (US). Can you tell me more about Lærke? One of my nicknames is Larka, is it pronounced similarly? And Luna at 48? How fun.
