    Bad @$$ names for girls

I've gotten a little bored of name meanings like grace, pure, beautiful rose, delicate princess, etc. If any of you have names with strong/smart/powerful meanings I'd love to hear them. The only one I know is Matilda which means "battle-mighty." Also relevant would be names that would be fit for a Valkyrie. Thanks, in advance, for your input :-)

Auntie to Morgan Ellen, Jason Lee, Stanna Marie, Shanna Lynn, and Eva Jean

I love family names, literary names and familiar but uncommon names. Feel free to suggest some!

    Drucilla - 'strong'
    Verity - 'truth'
Ramona - 'wise counselor' or 'protector' - so a bit strong AND smart.
    Lupe, Tala - 'wolf'
    Ursula - 'bear'
Viveka - 'live' or 'war fortress' - One of the most suitable for a Valkyrie, along with Ursula, as far as name origin.
Morrigan - 'phantom queen' also the goddess of war and death.
Minerva - another goddess, this one of wisdom and craft and sometimes war.
    Romilda - 'famous battle'
    Isolde - 'ice ruler'
Aideen - 'fire,' or 'little flame'
Andromeda - debated whether to include this, as it means 'ruler of men' but is a bit of a princess name. And the most famous legend about her is her rescue by Perseus from the kraken. Still an interesting one I feel.
    Livia - 'lioness'

Just some ideas. Am I way, way off?

@stripedsocks - You're not far off at all. I like Ramona, Viveka, Minerva, Isolde and Andromeda...I would love Ursula and Drucilla if I didn't have villain associations for each. I'd love to hear more ideas. Thanks for posting!

Ottilie, Ottoline and Odile - A trio of lovely O names, all meaning "prospers in battle."

Cosima - It means beauty, yes, but order as well. Beautiful and orderly.

Maude - Variation of Matilda, meaning the same thing - "battle mighty."

Melisande - Meaning "strong in work."

Rita - Meaning brave and strong.

Alcina - Uncommon Greek name meaning strong willed.

Britt - Britt is a unique choice meaning "high goddess." A similar name is Birgit, which means strength.

    Adelaide - Means noble.

    Thea - Godly.

Juno - "Queen of the heavens."

    Arya - Noble.

    Ramona - "Wise protector."

    Althea - "With healing power."

Anne - Well, Anne means grace, but let's not not forget Anne Frank. I think that alone makes it more "bad ass" because Anne Frank was such a strong woman.

    Ariel - "Lion of God."

    Wilhelmina - "Resolute protection."

    Alexa - "Defending men."

    Bellatrix - "Female warrior."

Petra - Meaning rock or stone.

    Darya - Meaning kingly.

    Bronte - Thunder.

    Hildegarde - Comrade in arms.

    Hope this helped!!
