    Zooey?

    Hello berries,
I would like to have some opinions on a boyname Zooey. I have been warming it up for a long time and now think it's really spunky and cheerful. I am toying with the idea of using a longer Z name like Zachariah, Zedekiah or Zared and shortening it to Zooey. I am aware some people may mispronounce it but I am more concerned that it may be confused with Zoe, do you think it's a problem? What do you think of Zooey?
Thank you for your time and help!

I think it's too tied to Zooey Deschanel and the name Zoe to ever be pulled off on a boy :/ It could work as a nickname, but I'll be honest - I don't think it really sounds/looks/feels like one.

I don't think it's usable on a boy. Zoe is too popular, and most people will see Zooey as a variant spelling.

Basically what the others said. Zooey sounds and looks feminine. It's all girl to me and very connected to the actress Zooey Deschanel. She is the first person I think of when I see it. I definitely think it will be mistaken for Zoe.

Could I have your thoughts in this thread? I'll return the favor.
