I tend to like long i sounds. I think it would be okay to have a a Simon and a Lila, for example, but I think it would be a bit overboard to have Lila and Isla or Levi and Eli.

I also like variants of the same/similar names--Eleanor and Lena and Leonie and Nora, or, Margaret and Margot and Margery.

    Laura & Derek

    Beatrix - Camille/a - Eleanor (Lena) - Isla - Lila - Leonie - Margot
    Arthur - Clark - Gabriel - Graham - Locke/Lachlan - Shepherd

    Guilty Pleasures:
    Andromeda - Lúthien - Vesper - Zephyr

I get frustrated because we tend to orbit around specific letters, yet we want the children to have their own initials.

We like N names: Nora, Nell, Nina, Nico, Nemo (mostly as a guilty pleasure), Niels. They all sound and look more or less the same.

E names: Edmond, Ellen, Eliza, Edward, Emilia.

T names: Theo (our son's name), Tessa, Thomas, Althea.

And of course our problematic "ra" ending - two syllable names for girls: Nora, Cora, Flora, Vera, Ciara, Clara, Lara.

Yes... I just made a thread on it, asking for help, because, honestly, I cannot decide.
eg: Arthur, Artemis, Athena, Amadeus, Abner
Ferelith, Fenella, Frederica, Francesca, Forest, Frost, Franklin
Hestia, Helena, Harriet, Henriette, Hale, Henry
    Roland, Rosemary, Rowenna, Remus
    Maxine, Marine, Minerva
    Elke, Elva, Esmeralda, Emerald
    Wolfgang, Winnie, Walter

I don't have a problem with children sharing initials (I wouldn't have a problem with, say, Theodora and Tatiana), but a lot of my choices are quite similar, and often share the same nn (eg Arthur and Artemis: Artie / Art).

    etc... Sigh.
