    As a nickname, yes. As a full name not so much. I suppose there are worse choices out there though.

    I like it much more than Blue. Blue is so bleak, but Red is fiery. Plus it's in the same vein as Ed, Ted, Ned, which I love.

    I have known plenty of dogs and people nicknamed Red. It doesn't really feel like a complete first name, but it does have character.
