AH-ree-ATH-nee' ('th' like in the word 'the') but even our basic pronunciation of 'ARRY-ad-nee' is closer to that than the 'air' one.
I have an opposite one. I love the sound of the name phonetically described as 'NIGH-ree' but seeing it on paper as Ngaere is a tad off putting It's still beautiful though.
