I'm a Maggie that comes from Marjorie. Marjorie is actually my middle name (full name: Diana Marjorie...after my mother and grandmother) but I have always been Maggie. I think Maggie is perfectly usable on it's own and, had I had a say, I would have just chosen Maggie as a first name.

Why search for a different way to get there with a name you have to figure out when you already love the nickname?

Thanks for the feedback. We just don't give the children nicknames. We have 3 daughters already all their names are 3-4 syllables with a shorter nn. I too go by a nn. And have always appreciated having both options. Just Maggie is very sweet and we do like it but neither the Margaret names nor simply Maggie (no matter how darling) quite seems right especially since it would be so very different from our other daughters's names.
Children are all perfectly and wonderfully made

    Names we would consider

Elisabetta, Magdalena, Caralana, Elisende/a, Valencia, Snow
