    Too dated or not?

    Edna. How old is the name to you? Honestly, Enid is a Berry favorite, so why shouldn't this name get more recognition?

    Pretty darn old....revitalized a bit if I think about the full name Edna St Vincent Millay.

    Yeah, Edna is pretty dated to me. Up there with Gertrude and Doris.

    I really like Edna, but my husband is a huge Simpson's fan, and Edna Krabappel makes it pretty impossible for me to ever really consider it. I think this would be the most common association with the name these days.

    I think of Dame Edna and of Edna Krabappel. It just feels really fusty to me, maybe because of the "ed" syllable in the front. FWIW, I'm not big on Enid or Ethel, so maybe I just don't have the right taste for it (though I don't mind Edith).
