American Baby Magazine WDYT?
I was reading the May issue of American Baby Magazine and they have a whole article on picking a name this month. They talked about blending your favorite names (Lillian and Ella becomes Elliana), bypassing a family name (Like Don but not Donald, so use Donovan), last names as first names (Dempsey, Warren), names with cultural roots without being difficult to pronounce (Think Luc for Gianluca), and it goes on and on. A very nice article actually, it had some personal stories of couples trying to find THE one and trying to balance between different styles and whatnot. Finally it was finished off with a list of names that was categorize into groups.
The College Crowd
The Silver Screen
The Color Wheel
The Oval Office

I feel like most of the college crowd ones are try-hard. If I met a Princeton or Stanford I would think that was a little weird.
I love all the silver screen names for the girls. Love Lana! I am relieved they used actual first names as suggestions and avoided the whole Harlow and Monroe etc. Lana sounds more Hollywood glam to me than Harlow, any day.
Some of them are a bit of a stretch and I can't imagine on a real kid. rust???? Please.
I like Anise, Agatha, Vera and Sienna.
And the boys - Basil, Calvin and Ezra. And Bogart is a GP of mine, it's cute on a golden retriever or something maybe. Maaaaaybe a middle name of a human.
Overall fun list to go through, quite a variety of styles!Henry & Edmund
