I want to name my son Stephen, but I absolutely loathe any potential nickname, including Steve, Steve-o, and Phen. Is there a way to ensure that he never chooses to go by Steve and no one in his life ever calls him that? I know I can talk to his pre-school teachers about it, but what about his high school principal and university dorm roommate? I cannot abide with him EVER going by a nickname that I didn't choose for him.

B: You can't possibly be Eastern European. Those aren't names, just random Russian words and locations.

A: HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY CULTURE?!?! I'M NOT A TROLL! I'm going to delete my Nameberry account and NEVER COME BACK, you heartless b*s!
Maggie, this is fantastic. So funny. You should have added Rusalka, Petrova and Zvezda. They are classical Russian names of course.
Or: *random person*: "If you are Russian , how about Vladimir for a boy? I think it is a popular Russian name?"
    A: "Noooo, it's too Putin."
Later: "We decide to name our boy Nikolaevich Nebo Privet. Thank you for help!"
