Convince Me To Like Your Favorite Names
Hi, Berries ! Most of us have a few favorite names that we love above all others, often based upon the imagery or sensory aspects we associate with them.
I love browsing through the forums to read people's elaborate and beautiful descriptions of certain names, and these descriptions tend to become more vivid and detailed when the name happens to be a favorite one. I've decided to open this discussion up again and allow for everyone to describe their favorite names as vividly as they please.
You can use quotes, photos, colors, tastes, anecdotes, time periods, poems, places, films, memories, fragrances, or lengthy characterizations. Feel free to be as creative, detailed, and specific as you'd like! Make me love your favorite names, and see them how you do!Teenberry, History Geek, Lover of Stories and Tales

This is fun!
Jessamine - I love that it is cute yet spunky. I think of a little blonde girl with green eyes who is adventurous and smart. I love the nn possibilities...Minnie when she's little, and maybe Jessa when she's older. I also love that the girl on the show Girls name is Jessa but in one episode someone calls her Jessamine its cute I'm pronouncing it like Jasmine or Jessamyn. I like the double ss sound a lot.
Gwendolen - just reminds me of medieval times and screams romance to me I can see it on a little girl or an adult. It has rich history and just flows of the tongue so well. I love having long names with nn's and this one has Gwen, Doll, Dolly, Leni and probably more! I picture a fair maiden when I hear or see the name.
Kalani - I don't think most people are a fan of this name and it has grown on me so much. I like how it is associated with Hawaii, a place I have never been but would love to go. I love the way it looks written and the way it flows. It has a lyrical vibe to it to me. I heard it first on Dance Moms and the young girl who has the name is the most beautiful dancer I have ever seen. I grew up as a competitive dancer so now the name reminds me of dancing which is lovely. Not a lot of nn options but I don't think it needs it as much. Perhaps Kali or Lani. I picture a dark blonde or light brown haired dancing girl
Hope this is what you meant you wanted.25 & loving names...just dreaming for now

Ophelia is the royal blue sky right after sunset to me. When only the last bits of light are visible on the horizon.
She's the stars that shine bright through the treetops when you lay down in the forest.
She's the rain that strokes the grass in the morning hours.
Ophelia is the universe with all it's beauty and own will.
Ophelia is the hands of a little girl dressed up in a tutu, butterfly wings and a self-made crown on her head, full of dirt and sprinkled with pink Raspberry juice.
She's the sound of creaking stairs and pages being flipped in a book, eyes wide open.
A white peter pan-collared dress, worn by a girl pressing her nose against the fogged window, smiling at the beautiful bird songs.
She's a wall full of watercolor paintings in light colours and the sound of stomping little feet.
Ophelia is mostly Dark Blue with sprinkles of Gold to me.

Svala is my very favourite girls' name. Svala is the Icelandic word for swallow, the bird. It is also a form of the adjective svalur, meaning cool, as in the temperature. I love it because it is so Icelandic, it feels like an Icelandic night in June under the midnight sun, the cool air and the pale blue sky, that sense of peace and freedom and energy you get here when the evenings are so bright, but calmer and stiller than the days. But it also reminds me of bright blue English summer skies, when I was little watching the swallows going in and out of the stables, with the smell of hay and leather, or swooping low over the fields, long grass, oak trees. Swallows are one of my favourite birds - they don't migrate as far as Iceland so they will always remind me of England. I don't know, I don't get this sort of imagery with a lot of names, but Svala just does a lot for me. It's such a summery name, I think, because swallows are summer birds (at least they are in Europe) and it reminds me of both my homes, Iceland and England, at the same time. So blue as well. I don't usually attach colours to names but Svala is a very pure shade of blue.Freyja Elísabet - 4 June 2015Emil - Ingimar - Kjartan - Matthías - Óskar - Róbert
