    Usable Name

Do you think Bartholomew is usable in todays world?

What nicknames would you give him besides Bart?

I'm on the fence with this one. Archibald, Beauregard and Barnaby are similarly questionable because...well, they just sound very old and somewhat funny (I love Archibald btw). I think it would go best in the middle. Berry is the only other nickname I can think of at the moment.

There was a young guy called Bartholomew on a quiz show I was watching, and he used it in full. I think it's usable, especially out loud, it's got the same amount of syllables as Alexander or Sebastian. For nicknames, I like Tol, Tolly, maybe even Mew, for a small child. I love Bartholomew!

I love it, and yes, I think it's usable.

With names like Jeremiah and Nehemiah being in regular use, I don't think Bartholomew is out of place among these names at all.

I would use the nn Tolly.

Bartholomew would lend itself to nn Lew/Lou as well.
