How to honor this name? (without using the exact name)

Hi all, I'm looking for some ways to honor someone named Amerika. It's a hard one to brainstorm for. I would like to not use the exact name. Any ideas?

United States? Haha. (Sorry, that was awful.)

These contain similar sounds or parts of the name:
    Amy
    Amelia
    Amanda
    Dominika (same ending)
    Erica/Erika
    Merida
    Amoret
    Erin
    Meredith
    Marigold

Some people consider the same first initial to be honouring. Is her middle name or surname/maiden name usable? Also, does she have a favourite place, flower, gemstone, etc. that's usable as a name?

How about honouring her with a state name or city name instead?

    Phoenix
    Georgia
    Carolina
    Dakota
    Virginia

This was definitely hard, but here are my suggestions…

    Annika
    Mare\Maire
    Amory
    Emery
    Erika\Erica
    Marin
    Mary
    Federica\Frederica nn Rica

There are some lovely US place names you could use, if it wouldn’t seem too cheesy a tribute: Virginia, Carolina, Alaska, etc.

I agree with @bonfireazalea: you might want to see if there is any other way (e.g., a favorite flower) you could honor this person.

I think bonfireazalea covered most of the possibilities, but I would also add
    Meri
    Rika
    Amity
Or you could go the route of using a name with a related meaning/reference like
    Liberty
    Georgia
    Tennessee
    Virginia
