thoughts/favorites of my middle name list for Dexter

I have gone back and fourth about adding Dexter to my list. I love Dexter, he is a spitfire, adventurous, and wise. He knows how to get dressed-up but also loves getting dirty. I am unsure if I would use a nickname, we have never used a nickname for my son (except a pet name that we only used when he was a baby), but I love Dex, if I did use one.

The only thing that has made me pause about using the name is the show Dexter. I have never seen it, so I do not associate the name to the character but it seems many do. A few days ago I was thinking a perfectly handsome name shouldn't be tarnished because of a show. Plus we still have babies being named Frederick (Freddie sp?), Jason, Michael, Norman, Jack (and this is in my top 10), Carrie, and Blair to name ones that come to mind.

What are your thoughts/favorites of these middle names I have been thinking about? I have found that I am preferring one syllable middle names. Some of the names honor, some are special, and some are just loved.

My personal faves from your list are:

    Dexter Finch
    Dexter Oakes
    Dexter Reid
    Dexter Hayes
Dexter Knox (I like the x's!)

I also like the idea of pairing a super cool, trendy name like Dexter with something a little more timeless or well, boring... like:

    Dexter James
    Dexter George
    Dexter Harrison
    Dexter Evan
    Dexter Elliott
    Dexter Samson

    Something along those lines!

    Thank you, thegalvins.

I also like a classic name with a spunkier name. I like Dexter Elliot, Dexter Samson, Dexter James, and Dexter George...especially Dexter James and Dexter Elliot.
