    Top Faves

    Esme
    Alice
    Iris
    Eliza
    Ivy

Not A Fave But A Fine Name

    Lydia

    Too cutesy

Nina - this is like naming a female "girl". This would be a good nn for Antonina.

    Too Trendy

Isla - it's too early to classify this contemporary name as "classic"

    Nicknames only

Annie for Anna, Anthea, Annabeth, Antonia, Annabeth etc...
Millie for Millicent, Camilla, Amelia, Emilia etc...
Evie for Evelina, Evelyn, Evangeline etc...
    Daisy for Marguerite
    All the best,
    Mischa.

Fantastic list! I'm being completely honest here, so I'm sorry if I come across too harsh

Isla -Love the sound, very pretty- but if what you're going for is more of a classic feel, be warned that Isla is going to rise, along with Lila, Ella, Isabella, etc. and could wind up feeling trendy.
Esme -Dislike the Twilight connection, plus I'm just not a fan, sorry!
Daisy -Prefer it as a nickname.
Annie -I really like Annie, but I like Annabel as the longer form (or Anna, Annaliese, etc.)
Nina -Very pretty sound, very simple. I like it, but have a bad personal association, though that wouldn't affect your own name choice at all.
Evie -Cute, but a longer name for the workplace might be better.
    Eliza -Like this a lot.
Lydia -Very nice. It's growing on me!
Ivy -Love it. It's gorgeous, I just dislike the plant ivy itself, which limits the name for me.
    Alice -Beautiful, but getting popular.
Iris -I adore Iris! It's on my own list.
Millie -So sweet! I love this one, but again would like a longer name, though I think that's up to personal preference.

My suggestions, based on your (excellent) short classic style. I tried to pick names that are shorter and sleeker, more fit for modern times, like your own list.

    Delia

    Olive
    Jane

    Great list. My favorites:

    Esme
    Nina
    Eliza
    Lydia
    Ivy
    Alice
    Iris

Annie, Evie, and Millie I only like as nicknames. How about Anna, Anne, Annis, Anais, or Anthea, Milla, Mila, Millay, or Camille, and Eva, Eve, or Evelyn?

Matilda Sailor or Faye Matilda | Sylvie Winifred or Simon Atlas | Atlas Dov or Alice Violetta | Lucien Wilde or Lucinda Jane | Jane Lucinda or Jack Mariner | Marlowe Charles or Roscoe Thomas | Charles ' Charlie' Wallace or Marigold 'Maggie' Wynn | Eloise Lily or Elliot Darwin | Iris Cordelia or Thea Marina | Jasper Augustus or Juniper 'June' Lovelace | Julian Felix or Judah 'Jude' Reeve

Just a grad student dreaming ahead...
