Lavinia has caught my attention in a big way lately. It sounds elegant, not too frilly despite the four syllables, and sweetly old-fashioned. Also, it serves as an honorific: my mom, who is Indian, is named Lavanya. Lavinia is very similar in pronunciation to Lavanya and sounds very much like an Anglicization of it.
Anyway, what do you think of Lavinia?

I love it. I first heard it on Downton Abbey and fell hard for it. It's beautiful and classic, without being overused.Miriam ~ Helena ~ Estella ~ Beatrice ~ Anastasia ~ Veronica ~ Sarah ~ EstherPaul ~ Wesley ~ Walter ~ Edmund ~ Isaac ~ Abram ~ Gabriel
