Adlai: will it cross over to the girls?

Does anyone think Adlai has crossover potential? It's a short form of the feminine Hebrew Adaliah, and reminds me of Addison and Lorelei.

I probably wouldn't use Adlai for a girl (or a boy) but can see it becoming more popular for both sexes. Kind of a neat name for a boy, and it goes along the lines of some of the softer masculine names, too.

Thoughts? Irretrievably linked to Adlai Stevenson?

If this one does cross over, I expect it will be a one-off type of thing. With all the more feminine options (Delia, Adelia, Dahlia, Adalia/Adahlia, Adelaide, etc.) from many cultures, I can't see this one becoming more popular for girls than boys, though I can't really see it being hugely popular for boys either. I would love to meet a little boy named Adlai, though. So handsome!

In the Bible, Adalia/h is a man.
I don't see Adlai ever crossing but that hasn't stopped people from slapping Elisha or Micah on girls so who knows?

    heh... yeah.

I'd love it if a male biblical name was never slapped on a girl again!

Oh. I didn't know Adaliah was a man in the bible.

How is it pronounced, do you guys know? "Ad-uh-LIE-uh?"
