    Polly?

    So my name's Paula. I'm not a fan of it at all, especially not in English.
    Now me and two friends are planning on going to England next year and stay there for a few months (or longer) and I'm looking for an alternative. I thought that Polly might cover my problems, since it still has something of Paula, it even sounds similar to Pauli, a nickname I barely get but that would be "intuitive".
    What do you think?
    How do you genreally view Polly?
    Any other ideas?

    Polly as a nn for Paula? absolutely! I think it works perfectly!

    I think Polly is really a fun happy nickname. Less common than Molly and a bit more spunky.

    Moving is a great opportunity to try out a new nickname.

    That's great! I've never really had a nickname and what I like about Polly is that not everyone would ask what my full name is. Especially not in the nickname-loving UK (I guess).

    I love Polly! Old-fashioned in the cutest way possible, very familiar and yet I've only met one - actually a Paulette who goes by Polly. So I think it works perfectly. People probably won't ask what it's short for and if they do, "it's a nickname for Paula" makes perfect sense.
    Girls:
    Nickname-able: Susanna, Johanna, Paloma, Lucille, Harriet, Beatrix, Rosemary, Juniper, Marigold, Annabeth, Gwendolen, Kathleen, Tabitha
