    Raffaella/Raphaella NN?

    - Okay, after everyone, including the husband, said oooh no no no nooo! on Lucania, but suggested keeping Raffaella / Raphaella. I'm considering it as a first. My husband is on the fence. I'm not entirely sold because of nickname options. I do really like Raphaella, but besides Ella, what is there? I guess what I'm trying to say is that Ella as a name seems to be every where here, and it seems over used. If Rafe/Raph for a boy is accessible, could Raffa/Rapha be okay for a girl?

How about Phae? Phaedra is fairly popular on NB and there has been some buzz around Faye lately, so I think it works. I had a student a few years ago whose middle name was Phae.

Raffa in this version should be fine. Penna, hettie, Dora, Flossie, Drussie, Lette are all acceptable in use, Raffa would fit in just fine. I saw a little girl go by Luca and her name was Luciana after her mother. Since mother went by Lucy, she decided to call her daughter Luca, The mom hated Anna or Ann by itself. Do whatever you want..
