Alexander and Anders
I have a step-son names Alexander. My husband has his heart set on naming our son Anders. While I really do like the name, I think it will be too similar to his brother's name. Alexander does not have a short-name yet; although I expect it will end up being Alex, it could possibly be Zander, even more like Anders than Alexander is.
As background, my husband is Swedish and we want a Swedish name for our son.
What do you think?

I agree with you, I think they're way too close. It could get confusing when you're introducing them together. Maybe...
I'm not sure how popular any of these are in Sweden, but I like all of them and think they would work in a multilingual family!

It's way too similar. Anders full name will almost completely be in Alexander. Alexander.
