    I don't think it matters. I consider the sound and the flow to be more important.

    I actually like a longer middle paired with a short first name. I think the flow is nicer than a short first name with a short middle. I also like long first names with a short middle, but I think it all depends on what you want to use as a first name and then go from there.

    I think it's completely fine. It is kind of harder to make combos that flow well when the first name is shortest, but still very possible.

    I think a lot of people have a preference for short (sometimes almost "filler") middle names - Rose, Lee, Anne, May, Beth, etc.
    I think it can go either way. I tend to prefer one name be longer and the other short, whichever is which.
    On a slightly different note, I also like a difference in syllabic emphasis of each name. For example, Anna Nicole (with the emphasis on the first syllable in the first name and on the second in the second name) is more appealing to me than Anna Hailey (which both have the emphasis on the first syllable.
