    Let's Talk About Amelie!

Haven't had one of these in a long time. Amelie is a new name crush of mine. I'm a bit worried because of the potential mix-ups with Emily and Amelia, but I'm really starting to like it.

What are your general thoughts on Amelie?
    How do you pronounce Amelie?

Previous names: Ilaria, King, Cordelia, Madeleine, Louisa and Katarina

    Thanks, Berries!

I love Amelie! I worry about the Emily/Amelia confusion too, but, I pronounce it as AH-may-lee. I have heard it can be AH-mel-ee as well.

Amelie Cordelia sounds lovely, by the way

Amelie is so cute! In the US, it would definitely get confused with Emily and Amelia, but I still really love it. I pronounce it more like Ah-muh-lee.

    I love Amelie

    I pronounce her [ah-mel-ee]

Amélie Genevieve Anne has been on my long list for years now. I prefer Amélie to Amelie, but only slightly. I pronounce the two differently. [Amélie = ah-may-lee].

I really like Amelie (mostly thanks to the movie.) I like the look of it better with the accent--I think it looks more different from Emily that way. I pronounce it somewhere between ah-meh-lee and ah-may-lee.

Haley's suggestion of Amelie Cordelia is lovely.
