    Middle Name for Edith

    Hello, all.

H and I recently decided on the name Edith (NN Edie) for our baby girl due in August. I am struggling a bit with a middle name, though. I think I like the idea of pairing a more modern name with Edith, to balance out the overall effect. I definitely gravitate toward older names in general (other finalists for FN were Ivy, June and Iris), but I worry a tiny bit that Edith + an older name might sound old in a bad way? Edith seems to be one of those names that most people still hear and immediately think "old lady," so I don't want to overdo it, if that makes sense.

Below are the names currently on my list; please let me know your favorite, or feel free suggest something totally different. LN sounds like "choice." Unusable names include Blair, Isabel, Kathryn/Kate, Teagan, Amy, Emily. TIA!

I love Edith nn Edie. To offset it's clunky feel, a more feminine name is needed in the middle spot. From your list, I like these mn's.

    Edith Coraline
    Edith Cecilia
    Edith Magnolia
    Edith Vivienne
    Edith Aurora
    Edith Allegra

However, my favourite combo for this name is Edith Lavender. I think it has the right mix of vintage and quirkiness.
    All the best,
    Mischa.

My favourites from your list are:

    Edith Amelia
    Edith Adele
    Edith Audrey

Not sure if that's because vowel names flow better as a middle, or if I am just a sucker for A names!

I'm liking Edith Amelia more, the more I think about it, but is Edith Isla bad? H said today he likes it too.
