    Carol?

Lately I've been crushing on this name (mainly because of the Everly Brother's song Carol Jane....). I know most people see it as dated, tied to the 50's and what not. But really I think if you look past that connection, there's no reason Carol shouldn't be more popular. It is a name with solid use and history, plus it's a word name with a good/artistic meaning. Plus with Caroline in the top 100 I think Carol would be a great alternative.

What do you think of Carol? Is it ready to make a comeback? And what would you think if you met a little girl named Carol?

I know a teen girl named Caroline and I believe it is a marvelous names. Carol seems a bit too short. Maybe as a nickname?

It's a grandma name. Perhaps it could work for a Christmas baby, but I'd go with Carolina.

I have a hard time imagining a Carol under 55, but I have an aunt named Carol who was born in 1957. While it could be hard to pull off, it would be refreshing to meet a young Carol.

Thanks for your opinions. I know it's a dated name but I think meeting a young Carol would change the image of the name you know?
