    Stretching the NN possibilities

Could I stretch the NN possibility for Adelaide to Alice?

I understand that it is its own name and there are plenty of other amazing NN for Adelaide as well as being fantastic on it's own. I was just wondering since Alice is a short form of Adelaide.

I feel like they are two completely different names and calling her Alice would be too far of a stretch. I mean know why you would think it could be a possible nn. Both names mean "Noble," but it's just too far for me. If you end up calling her Alice, just name her that. Alice is very beautiful on its own.

I'm a fan of unusual nicknames, but I'm afraid Adelaide nn Alice just requires too much name-nerd knowledge to actually work in real life.

Since it is the short form of Adelaide it works logically, but I'm not sure how many people will know the history behind it.

When I started reading your post, I thought it was too big a leap. However, after reading that you have two angel babies, I think you should do whatever makes you happy. Love and enjoy this baby - you deserve it.

Have you considered: Adelyce, Adelice, Adalyce, Adalice, or Adalia?

Have you thought about honoring your angels with little Adelaide's middle name? If you like this idea, here are a few suggestions:

    Adelaide Iviah
    Adelaide Xia
    Adelaide Za / Zaciah
    Adelaide Issiah
    Adelaide Isla
    Adelaide Iva
    Adelaide Xabrielle / Xabriel
    Adelaide Xavia

I wish you the best with your precious baby girl.
