Antoinette is beautiful. I doubt it would be confusing, as tarynkay pointed out, the two would use different names. My only concern is that your other sisters might feel left out, if you choose to use one sibling's name and not the rest. Nettie makes a gorgeous nickname, and if it isn't a slang term in Scotland, I don't see a problem using it. Another name I like with Cressida, that is similar to Antoinette is Antonia.

My daughter is named after her great-grandmother (my grandma) who is still living. In fact, they share the same first and last name. Since my grandma still lives in Germany it doesn't cause too many issues as they don't see each other very often at all. However, when we do visit, my Karin goes by "Baby Karin."

It sounds to me like everyone is on board with you using Antoinette, so I say go for it!! I think it sounds beautiful with Cressida.

I think it's weird. My cousin is named June and my aunt's sister (her mother) is named June as well. I always thought that was so odd. Also, my husband's cousin is Anthony and his uncle's brother is Anthony too. I think it's bizarre.

Haha, I've never heard of this! How odd.

My cousin and my dad have the same name and neither go by nicknames. It can get a bit odd at family gatherings though, when some of us have to distinguish between Big Richard and Little Richard, lol. I think as long as your sister is ok with it there shouldn't be a problem.
