    Which way to spell it

I like the name Leighton/Layton for a girl. My DH really really likes it.

I know Leighton is the preferred spelling for a girl but I am still worried it would get mispronounced.

I like Layton because it looks nice and is straightforward in pronoun citation.

What is your ladies' opinion on how we should spell it?

Leighton looks better for either gender. Personally, I would avoid a name with the word "lay" in it. I can imagine all sorts of teasing for a girl in the future.
    All the best,
    Mischa.
