Elijah nn Eli or just Eli?

If we name our baby boy Elijah, we will call him Eli most of the time. So should we just call him Eli instead? We just like the idea of Elijah for him to use in formal/professional situations when he is older.

Eli can stand on its own perfectly well, but I prefer it as a nickname. I love Elijah!

There are a lot of Elijahs out there right now, so your Eli would be refreshing
I love the name Eli on its own...so handsome!

Elijah, Elias, Eli--all are great names! I'd go w/the full-name/nickname combo and let your son decide.
