    So the question is, can it be pronounced more like Rise? Or rhyming with Whys/Wise?

    No-I have never heard it pronounced that way. That would be incorrect. It is said like Ree-se.

    I think this name is lovely but unusable for me as a mutual friend with this name, ruined it for me.

    The pronunciation Rise doesn't make sense in Welsh. Reese is the correct pronunciation, I'd stick to that
