    Eek. This pronounced in French sounds the exact same as the feminine form of Violent. Like, exactly the same. I'm not even going to recommend any middles since I strongly disagree with this name, sorry!

    Thank you for letting me know you disagree with the name, but it remains a legitimate name regardless (it runs in royal family lines to this day). I am not French, so its meaning in French holds no significance for me.

    Regardless of the significance of the name for you I would think very carefully about calling your child Violante. SHE will have to like it, NOT YOU.
