What about a name beginning with a G and Owen as a middle name. Then he'd have G. Owen and call him that if he wanted to.

    Grant Owen Bell
    Gilbert Owen Bell
    Garrett Owen Bell
    Gustav Owen Bell (Gus)
    Olivia/Livia/Livy/Liv : Thessaly/Darah/Bethel : Noelle/Eve
    Benedict/Eli: Jude/Zane: Luke/Darius : Levi/Phineas/Calvin

I think that Lincoln is so cute. My husband is a adult nerd too, so I can sympathize. Link would be an adorable nickname! I think it is very appropriate.

I like Arthur Bell the best from your list, but the others are nice too. I think Lincoln nn Link would be a great compromise name.

I too suggested Lincoln nn: linc

Perhaps Rohan I know its a name I've seen in Lord of the rings
