So far he has crossed Ivy off the list bcz of 'poison ivy', Audrey and Rosalie are too old, no to Lyra. Needless to say I'm slightly frustrated even if we aren't TTC right now..

    any recommendations for names?

    and opinions on Isla?

    thanks berries!!
Ah that's so annoying especially as Ivy, Rosalie, Audrey, and Lyra are such gorgeous choices!

I also love Isla it's a beautiful choice. She sounds fresh and vibrant. Reminds me of rural landscapes, pebbled beaches... it creates beautiful imagery. Hopefully he'll love this one.

Names similar to these choices are:

    Ellen
    Leola
    Esme

You seem to like the name style that is pretty close to mine. Sorry that DH vetoes your faves.

Isla is stunning, I love the sound and the meaning.

I love Isla, it's very fresh and pretty, but it's got a rich history. It's a very "posh" name in my eyes.

Ivy: Iva, Navy, Avia, Evie, Ivory, Aimee, Kylie
Audrey: Aubree, Audriana, Adriana, Adrienne, Ada, Adeline, Adelina, Adela, Adele, Adair
Rosalie: Rosamond, Rosaline, Rosen, Rocio, Rosalba
Lyra: Lila, Aria, Arya, Lynwen, Lynna, Lyric, Myra, Kyra, Kiera

Thanks for all your suggestions! Its nice to know I'm not the only one with a frustrating husband!

Some of the names that I am definitely going to run by DH are: Esme, Eva, Clara, Nina, Lana and Dahlia, along with Isla

Other names I loved from your suggestions, but got nixed:
    Aria…for no apparent reason
Aurelia…its the name of a town close to where we live, so he nixed it!
    Eliza is a family friend
Violet is our pet rabbit's name
    Madeline is our niece's name
    Amelia/Mia is our SIL name
    Stella is another SIL
Lila is my best friend's top baby name, so I won't steal it from her even though its a gem
I also really loved Freya, but he sadly said no… sigh

I really like Emma, love the history and rich literary connections, but I'm a bit worried about how popular it is. I generally don't mind popular names (my all time favourite name was the super popular Lily, and I was going to use it until my cousin did), but I also don't want my little one to be the third Emma in her class

    Any other opinions/Suggestions?
