Olympic Name Thread - All The World's A Stage!

Hi Berries, as I watch the Opening Ceremonies on the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics today, the name nerd in me can't help but notice some of the more interesting names from all of the world. Below are some names that have caught my eye. I'm particulary intrigued by the Finnish names - how they love the double letters in their names. I have a soft spot for chic French names and the exotic Japanese names not often heard). Perusing the athletes names from around the globe allows us to see some unfamiliar spellings. Please feel free to post as many times during the weeks ahead if another name comes to your attention and stands out from the crowd! The world is a village!

Does anyone know how the French pronounce Anemone as a name. I know the flower is ann-eh-muh-nee, but that doesn't seem very French.

@kala_way - I believe Anémone would be "ah-nay-moan" in French because there is an accent on the first "e". There is an actress with this name. However, former French President Valéry Giscard D'Estaing's wife spelled her name Anne-Aymone.
    All the best,
    Mischa.
