People tend to like/be more comfortable with things that are familiar. So since many people have known or met an Adelaide or Georgia or London or whatever, it seems normal and usable. Madrid or Kiev or Taiwan, not so much. I have a lot of random place names on my guilty pleasures list though- Amalfi, Dubrovnik, Malta, Andorra, Swansea, Puglia...~Love names, literature, royals and horses~ <3
