    Spelling poll

Which do you like best? What do you picture?

All pronounced bay-la or bail-a. All three transliterations are used and I don't know which is easiest/best/prettiest especially for people who aren't used to the name?

Bayla is pretty phonetic, and reminiscent of Kayla and Bayley etc.
Baila is like Bailey with an a instead of the -ey or like Laila.
Beila rhymes with Leila and has the same ei says a hard a as Reina.

It pops up, with inconsistent spellings, in my family tree over and over.

The relative I'd be naming for used Bella in English - which is not really related, but does sound similar. Would you go with Bella instead?

I like Beila the best, though the name in general sounds odd to me. I like it better than Bella though.

EDIT : Actually, I just now clicked on the "links" of each spelling, and Baila seems to be the "real" spelling, and it means "dance" in Spanish. I like this version better because it's an actual name.

I would go with Baila. Bayla reminds me of Kayla, Kaylee, Baylee, etc., so looks sort of trendy, and Beila could be mispronounced often.
    not expecting, just collecting.

They're all actual names, if that helps.

Means "white" or "beautiful" in Yiddish. Yiddish has a different alphabet and when it gets translated into English all three spellings float around, hence my indecisiveness.

I think Bayla is the most common spelling I see for this name. I like Baila better though.
