    Cormac

Does Cormac sound too redundant with a Mc- last name? I took it off our list because I thought the two "mac" sounds wouldn't work together. But, I just realized the character in Harry Potter has a Mc- last name, and it never struck me as sounding odd. What do you think?

Yes, Cormac McLaggen! I never thought it sounded odd either. I think it could work, and Maura and Cormac is a darling sibling set.

Cormac is fantastic, and on my list.
"Walter. That’s good. I’ve never known a little kid named Walter. It seems like an old man’s name, but I guess you have to start somewhere."

For me personally it would be too many macs in one name but I think it wouldn't be totally unusable.

Well, there's Cormac McCarthy, the author - sounds fine to me!

Cormac is a fab name, I'd do it.

I'm sure there are plenty of Cormac Mc------'s in the world (well, in one country in particular). I would probably choose to avoid it, personally, but I would think much of it if I met one. Do you like Conrad, or Callum, or Conall? Conall Mc------ would be grand.
